We would like to introduce you to Browning. He is an FIV+ male who is approximately 2-3 years old. Browning was part of a neighborhood stray colony that was being taken care of by some nice people. He had been coming around for about a year before he was severely injured. One day Browning disappeared, he was gone for a few months and then suddenly he reappeared. When he came back, he was limping and his caretaker knew something wasn't right.
His caretaker rushed him to Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center for treatment. There he was seen by the wonderful Dr. Springer. X-rays were done, which determined that he had a fractured pelvis and a few scrapes and abrasions on his face and body. Dr. Springer believes that this injury was likely the result of being hit by a car.
Browning was discharged with some oral pain medications and instructions that he needed to be on strict bed rest for 6 weeks to allow his pelvis time to heal.
He went back to Orchard Park for a follow up appointment on June 7th. Dr. Springer said Browning was doing great and that the fracture was healing nicely. As a result of the fracture, Browning will have some permanent nerve damage in his hind legs, but he gets around just fine.
Browning is now ready to go to a furever home. He is a sweet and mellow guy. He likes to lounge and just hang out. He absolutely loves people and wants nothing more then to curl up in a lap and be showered with affection!!! He also seems to be ok with other cats.
Browning's adoption is by interview only, if you are interested in this handsome guy stop by or call the shelter at (716) 822-4910 and speak to Barb or Missy who will be handling his adoption process.
