Meet Olive! This senior lady is about 16 years old (but doesn't she look great?!). She was sadly surrendered due to circumstances beyond her control. She has been a Tabby Town resident since February of 2018.

Olive is VERY talkative. She loves to talk to you when you walk in the room and is just very vocal in general. Olive has done pretty well with adjusting to her new surroundings. She is not completely trusting of everyone, but once she gets to know you she loves attention. She will purr up a storm and seek out your attention. Once she’s done with attention-time, she’ll curl up and get back to sleep.

Olive is not very active in her old age and would prefer to just rest on her bed or a nice blanket. She would benefit most from a quiet home, preferably with no small children. She likes having her own space, so a stress-free environment would be best. She also does not like other cats and should be in the only one in the home.

Being a senior cat, we ran the typical senior blood panel for Olive. The results indicated that she may be in the very early stages of kidney disease. Kidney disease is very common in cats, especially senior kitties. Her results are not conclusive, so she will just need to be monitored every six months until her levels change one way or the other. Olive still may have a few years left in her, and we would love to see her spend those in a home.

Olive is spayed, current on vaccinations (Rabies and Distemper) and has been tested for FIV and Feline Leukemia (she tested negative for both).
