Meet Ducky! This handsome man is about 1 year old. He was rescued as a stray in Rochester by the Verona Street Animal Society. He has been a Tabby Town resident since May of 2018.   

Ducky is very active and playful. He is a high energy young cat. He likes to run around, climb and play with toys. He can be a bit independent and aloof when he is playing but once he settles down he is a sweet boy who enjoys petting. 

Ducky has a lot of energy so he can get a little feisty sometimes. Because of this, he should not be in a home with young children (under 12 years old). He needs a family that will wear him out so that he is not bored at home. He's not a big fan of being picked up, but does enjoy attention. With the right home, Ducky can blossom into the best version of himself. 

Ducky is not really a fan of other cats, his high activity level causes him to be too overwhelming to most cats, so he would do best as the only cat in the home. 

After Ducky had been with us for a few weeks, we noticed that he didn’t seem to be digesting the standard cat food well. He was using the litter box more than normal and just didn’t seem to be feeling great. We put him on Royal Canin Sensitive Digestion food, which has seemed to help him out. These issues may be stress related, since he is around other cats and doesn’t get to run around all day like he would like to. An adopter may find that they can transition him off of the special diet once he is comfortable.   

Ducky would love a furever family with just as much energy that he has! 

Ducky is neutered, current on vaccinations (Rabies and Distemper) and has been tested for FIV and Feline Leukemia (he tested negative for both).
