Meet Cashew! This beautiful dilute torti girl is about 1-2 years old. She was found as a stray with young kittens. She has been a Tabby Town resident since the summer of 2018.

Cashew is considered a feral cat, she has not made much progress in her socialization, for this reason we believe that she is not the best candidate for adoption into the typical home.

Cashew would do best in a quiet/low stress home with no small children or dogs. Cashew’s lack of human socialization means that even in a home, she may never fully interact with people. At Tabby Town, she is used to seeing and hearing humans, so she is comfortable enough to live in an indoor environment. She will need her own space, though.    

We will also consider a barn-type environment. Since she has been indoors for so a while now, we will not feel comfortable with her living back outside. An ideal environment for Cashew would be a heated barn or garage or the like that is strictly indoor with no outdoor access for the cats. Here, she could be safe, secure, and warm, but not forced to interact with people at all times. We may ask to do a “environment check” before adopting to ensure that it is the purrfect environment for our cats.

Cashew interacts well with other cats, so she would not cause a problem with any existing cats. In fact, she might do best with a companion. We have other cats at Tabby Town in similar situations that are looking for their furever homes. We would love for two of our “feral friends” to find homes together!

Cashew has been spayed and has been tested for FIV and feline leukemia (she tested negative for both).
