Meet Lexington (or Lexi for short)! This pretty girl is about two years old. She was rescued as a stray in the parking lot of the Lexington Co-Op. She has been at Tabby Town since August of 2018.

When Lexington originally came to us, we believed she was pregnant. She went into a foster home to prepare to have her kittens. We soon realized that she was not pregnant, so she was brought back to Tabby Town to find a home.

In her foster home Lexington showed an interest in exploring and trying to get outside. Her foster mom had to keep an eye on her to ensure she didn’t get into trouble. Other than that, she was a friendly cat. She was fine with the respectful dogs in the home.

When she arrived back at Tabby Town, her personality seemed to switch. She became increasingly stressed due to the other cats and noises, and became much more defensive. It can be difficult to interact with her now. She can be friendly and social, but that is only on her own terms and usually for short periods of time.

We believe that Lexington would greatly benefit from being back in a home environment with no other cats. She does not enjoy living around other cats, and would much prefer a home of her own to explore.

She needs a low-stress home with previous cat experience, no children, and no other cats. An adopter will need to have patience and understand that Lexington needs to blossom at her own pace.

Lexington is spayed, current on vaccinations (Rabies and Distemper) and has tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia.
