A mystery is always a good story. And, when it involves an adorable, conquering little kitten, it's an even better one!

Adopted!  Meet "Mystery". We are not exactly sure where she came from, but we are so glad she showed up. We thought we were going to lose her at first because she was so very sick, but many wonderful vets, including Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center, Brighton Eggert Animal Clinic and Dr. Gerber, helped to save her. In addition to severe upper respirato ry, fever and dehydration, she was loaded with internal and external parasites. Our amazing cat groomer came in twice to bathe her, ultimately having to shave her, but she was loved every step of way by the tabby team of volunteers. As she gained her strength with love and care, trust became a great side effect.

During the holidays she spent time with a wonderful foster family to build upon that trust and gain a little more weight for her spay and final baby shots. She has finally come back to us for adoption. Healthy and strong.

You would think an adorable kitten like this would already be adopted...she will be soon. She rolls for belly rubs, plays a lot, naps, loves to eat and uses her litter pan, but she freezes when you pick her up. She doesn't like that very much at all. Once she's in your arms and you hold her tight she does calm down, but then she wants to get down. She loves to run with the other cats. She is adventurous and not afraid, but she loves her own space. She likes her condo, her bed, her blanket, her toys. Anything that's hers to feel safe.

We think that because of getting her medications, baths, and being shaved, she's a little more protected with being picked up and held. I think she's still wondering what that next hand is coming at her for!! Good news, she is healthy and purrfect in every way. She loves people, but she is not a child's pick me up and run with me kitten. She loves children, which was observed in foster care, but when you pick her up she's going to freeze up...at first. An adult is going to have to help her here. Patience, love and time will do the trick for this little Mystery.

So that's her story. And she's not even 5 months old! Come in and meet her. You can't help but smile at how cute she is. She is not a mystery to us anymore really. She is just a courageous little kitten that found her way.     She will be a special adoption and all of her records will be made available.
