Meet Neil Catrick Harris! This handsome boy is about 3 years old. He was found as a stray in the Williamsville/Clarence area. Neil had been hanging around the neighborhood for quite some time before a concerned resident tried to find an owner and also began caring for him until he could find a safe place to live. Neil was then brought to Tabby Town to find a new home, he has been a resident since November of 2018.

When Neil arrived to Tabby Town he was extremely matted and dirty from being outside for so long. After settling in he saw the groomer and received a semi body shave and a medicated bath. He also was seen by our veterinary partner, Brighton-Eggert Animal Clinic and Pet Resort, where he received much needed medical care. During his physical exam, it was discovered that Neil had some healing scars and a possible healed fracture of his jaw, possibly due to trauma. It was also discovered that Neil was in need of dental work, he had a pretty bad infection in his mouth and even needed some teeth removed along with a dental cleaning. During his dental the doctor even found part of a stick that was wedged between two of his teeth, that was causing a great deal of the inflammation and infection.

Neil is now feeling much better and is all healed up and is ready to start the search to find a new home. He is a rather timid guy but once he feels comfortable he is a total love bug, he will approach you for attention and pets.

Neil currently lives in our "Team Office" since it is a bit quieter and the cats are a bit more laid back. The volunteers have spent a long time socializing him and helping build his confidence. While he has made a lot of progress and strides, he is still pretty timid. He usually prefers to hang out where he’s most comfortable, which is in small spaces like enclosed beds. When he gets to know you he will perk up and come out to greet you when he hears a familiar voice.

Neil gets along very well with the other cats in the office, he can often be found snuggles up next to one of them. We feel he would benefit from a home with another kitty that he could befriend, or even adopt him with one of his friends from the office.

We feel it would be best for an adopter to make multiple visits with Neil can become familiar with them as he is a bit cautious around strangers and will likely not make an immediate connection upon first meeting.

Due to Neil's timid nature we feel he would do best in a quiet, low stress home. He loves other cats but should probably not be in a home with small children or dogs, we think that might be too overwhelming for him.

Neil is a great cat who would blossom in the right home.

If you are interested in adopting Neil, stop by Tabby Town to meet him or you can email kaylee@tabbytown.org for more information.

Neil is neutered, current on vaccinations (Rabies and Distemper), has been treated for fleas, dewormed, and has tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia.
