Valerie is one of our cats who can be on the shy and quiet side. Often with the cats who are like this, it takes awhile for them to be adopted because they are looking for a particular home. In her case, she needs a home that is calm, without dogs, and no very young children. Dogs and young children may just be a bit much for her.  She can be comfortable around certain cats but because she is on the quiet side, some of the cats tend to give her a hard time. The last thing we want is for Valerie not to feel comfortable in her new surroundings. 

She is looking for someone who has patience and would be willing to let her come around at her own pace and not rush her. She is very comfortable with the people she knows and trusts, and given time we know that she would become that cat in your home. Once she comes out of her shell she is a very playful, affectionate cat and will happily become your companion.
