Meet eight year old Gracie. She had a loving home once. She had a loving family. She had her own home with comfy beds and windows. Her home was very quiet, she was the only cat and she loved her routine.  All that came to an abrupt end when her owner passed away. Gracie barely had time to process the loss of everything that she once knew before her life changed. She was rescued by one of our rescue partners Hope For Cats, Inc. and brought to Tabby Town in hopes that she can once again live the life that she not only was used to but that she deserves. 

Gracie has had a hard time making the adjustment from being the only cat to being surrounded by cats. From living with just one person to now being around many people, from peace and quiet to hustle and bustle. Change is not usually easy for any cat, and after eight years of living what she thought was her perfect life, she now has to make adjustments 
and she’s not finding it easy.

We can tell you what Gracie is like when you meet her at the store but what we can’t tell you is what she will be like when she has a home of her own. We can tell you what we feel she would be like, but she needs someone who will take a chance on her and find out. We understand that it can be a hard decision for lot of  people because first impressions can mean a lot and sometimes Gracie just doesn’t give off a good first impression.  The more time you spend with her you realize that she is just scared,  uncomfortable and is still trying to process everything that has happened to her.  Maybe make a few visits, just sit and talk to her and let her make the first approach.  

We get correspondence from adopters who took a chance on the shy ones, the scared ones, the defensive ones and say the cat they have in their home is completely different than the cat they met in the store and they can’t imagine not having them as a loving member of their family
